Beauty...

~ Beauty ~
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi friends
I recently posted this photo on my facebook....
This is a comment I received:
"I don't get this stuff. The flowers are turning brown. They're downright ugly. Why didn't you post the picture BEFORE they turned brown? "
(Ouch)
This is what a few of my sweet and talented friends wrote:
"Rachel, one of the most beautiful things about a rose to me is the stages it goes through "all the stages it goes through" from the bud to flowering to the petals starting to drop it is a perfect flower to me with a perfect cycle. I want to thank you for sharing that downright brown thing.......I adore all of your pictures and the sentiment was awesome!"
"I think faded roses are beautiful."
"Rachel~ you are such a doll, I am also so very thankful that I have a blog friend who knows TRUE beauty when they see it. I believe in order to see beauty, it has to come from the INSIDE first. Some people like Bob, clearly don't see true beauty. ROck on shabby girls!
"Love what Sherry wrote about the stages of a rose. I had one person tell me the roses in one of my photos are already past, but in my eyes, and yours, there're beauty remains, in all stages of life."
I love the photo, my friend. My personal favorite stage of my roses is when they are fully opened and just starting to get a bit droopy. I always wonder why people feel the need to make ugly comments-does it make them feel better to rain on someone's parade? Oh well, shine on Rachel, we "get it".
Hugs,
Judy
A few brown edges never destroys the beauty of a rose...it only enhances it. :) Your photo is lovely and represents what Shabby Chic is all about!
Hi Rachel ~~ I believe that those who can see beauty, have true beauty themselves. It is as if one's heart is full of beauty, one can see beauty in everything, and anything. I see beauty in those flowers Rachel ~~ You truly know how to create a beautiful home.
Sincerely,
Michele
I think it is a beautiful photo! My first thought when I saw it was that the rose looked so lovely and I wondered how every petal seemed to be curling so perfectly! :) Your blog is always lovely!
Hi Rachel,
There certainly IS BEAUTY everwhere & in everything....
The same goes for our aging bodies, isn't it not beauty when we see the life of wrinkles on an aging woman or man. I think so...
~LIFE~ IN ALL IT'S STAGES HAS A BEAUTY TO BEHOLD!
God's beauty is manifested in ALL.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos Rachel
Blessings
Koren
I love roses and keep them long beyond when most people would. Once they are a little past the stage you showed I hang them upside down and let them dry and use the petals which still smell sweet.
The first year I was with my husband I kept every petal from the roses he gave me (always red) and I still have them in a bowl in my living room and even now 16 years later they still smell lovely.
Ignore those who don't perceive the beauty in every stage of life. <3
Hi Rachel~ I am so proud of you, what a wonderful and honest post about "beauty." I have to say I was tickled pink when I read my fb quote on your beautiful blog! Anyway, like that one gal said, every rose has its thorn is so true. The good in the world is so much stronger than evil, and it's because of people like us who see beauty that keep this world so beautiful and feminine . I almost wish that I could sprinkle brownish rose petals all over his front door and ring the doorbell? How crazy would that be? LOL, we all LOVE everything you do, so don't change a thing! XOXO
I guess some people may have too much time on their hands. But I love how you handled it...
Everything you touch and design is beautiful to me! And mainly in Gods eyes. No one elses opinion matters. Lots of hugs
*sigh....*.....Why oh why do some people feel the need to be the thorn in a world full of beauty? So very sad and unfortunate for them, I guess. Keep being the rose in our life, sweet Rachel! ♥ We love ya!
My three year old granddaughter would have said...."whatever".
Your images are always filled with beauty, Rachel...no matter what "stage" they are.
Hugs.
It is sad to think that absolute perfection is the only beauty some will accept. They are missing out on so much! Your photo is beautiful, soft and lovely. Never let negativity make you pause and question what you feel is beauty. Who knows maybe you will soften a heart or two.
Always
Pam
I love when my rose petals fall to the ground. Your rose is probably my favorite stage, slightly unperfect.
