Fleamarket finds....

Hi friends
I went to a fleamarket with my friend Pat today and we had such a great time.
Here are my finds.....

I felt a little silly buying ornaments in June..but that way I will have a great collection by the time Christmas is here...

I love the floral trivet and the little bits and bobs..
The millinery roses were on an ugly light brown hat so I removed them and rit dyed them a lavender colour..
I love them now..
I almost didn't buy the satin  bust but there is just something I love about it..I can embellish it with millinery or vintage pins etc..

My sweet friends Pat and Kathy...
they loved the shells I gave them..lol.
It's great to have friends that love fleamarkets as much as I do!!

Overall it was a wonderful day with sweet friends and beautiful new finds..
Have a nice weekend everyone!
xo,
Rachel

I wish we had a decent flea market out here. The one close to my house is not the kind of place you want to go without protection!

I love your finds, especially the christmas ornaments! I read that one of your new R.A bistro chairs broke. I am so glad I did not buy any. I wanted to let you know that the bistro chairs I bought at Ikea are made so strong. We just love them! My husband is a carpenter so he is a good judge on whether something is made well. They come in white, antique brown and black/brown. I think the antique brown or white would look beautiful with your farmhouse table. They are called Ingolf and only $60 each.

I love that satin bust--I want one! I have never seen one like that.

I would have bought the Christmas ornaments too! I want to do a small pink tree next year. It has been a few years since I have done a pink one.

Thanks for sharing your finds:)

What a fun day for all of you, Rachel! :) Your treasures are just beautiful! I never would'ave thought to dye those flowers. I've got to get over my fear of playing with dye, I guess. :)

Gotta LUV summer Fleas (markets....not bugs). lol!

How fun to flea with friends. I always have the best time when I go to one with my girlfriend. I am the same with the ornaments, they are definitely cheaper in the off season, great colors.

Could you please pass on to Tausha that she will be missed and I wish she would not let the other person win.

Good Morning Rachel, Love to read your blog and see your new finds. looking forward to seeing pics of your new home. Would you please tell your friend Tausha I'm sorry that she is leaving blogland. I so enjoyed reading her blog...over and over. The world is full of people who take pride in tearing down others only because they want it for themselves.I was so hoping she would stay strong and carry on becuase she was /is such an inspiration to others. PSS..loved the article in Romantic Homes.

Looks like you had fun with your sweet friends, Rachel.
What a joy to be able to shop with others that love and appreciate the things we love. They can understand why we look for just the right pieces for our homes, and even help us find certain treasures that will bring a smile to our hearts and faces.
Hugs.

Great finds. I love the ornaments and I never think it's to early to start gathering them up for Christmas. Yours have an old world feel to them. I have several crackled silver and blue ornaments that I use to keep out all year long in a white shabby chic pedestal bowl. I loved it!

Hi Rachel.I have been doing the same as you only on this side of the pond.I went to a vintage fair and then went to a seaside town called Whitby and discovered a newly opened vintage shop full of treasures.I will be posting my finds later so do pop by and have a look.I love the shabby chic look but my house is Victorian and I have a mix of vintage and shabby chic.I love your home and your taste and your friends look like lovely ladies. Our friends are the cherry on top of the cake of life.I would love to see Romantic Homes but Ive never seen it over here. Please pass on my best wishes to Tausha.I have read her latest post but she has removed the comment button.I'm so glad she hasn't given up. Best to take the moral high ground and just carry on giving so much pleasure to so many people.
Much English love

One of my favorite afternoon rituals is sitting down at my computer and enjoying your and Tausha's blog. The photography is beautiful and so is the decorating! I was so sad today to discover I can no longer enjoy visiting "simply me" I am not sure what the circumstances are, but please let Tausha know I will miss my afternoons enjoying her blog! I am not a blogger, just a huge fan of Tausha's and your photography and decorating. Please let her know she will be missed...Stephanie @ chastainstk@comcast.net
