~ French Sacred Heart ~ New finds ~

Hi friends
I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far!
I recently purchased this beautiful antique Sacred Heart from my favourite antique shop
I had to share it with you
It is from a Church in France and I think it is so beautiful
* I recieved a comment that said she believes it is the Immaculate Heart Of Mary, so intersting to learn more about its history*If anyone knows anymore about this piece I would love to know*

It is very large and has a wonderful chippy shabby patina
Very Shabby Chic
                                     I admired it for a long time and finally decided to splurge on it

I also recently found mercury glass candleholders at TJMaxx
I love the mixture of the chippy wood with the beautiful shiny mercury glass
TJMaxx has alot of Mercury glass right now and very inexpensive

The chippy blue pedestal is actually an antique piece from France that men would spit their tobacco into a long time ago! Crazy huh? I love the light blue chippy paint and the decorative edging. I was surprised to learn what it was originally used for!lol.A little gross. Now it's a pretty shabby chic accent in my home :)

I'm going to a fleamarket this friday with one of my blogging friends
Tracie from Fishtail Cottage
We've been planning this night for a long time and it should be alot of fun!! :)
I'll be sure to share with you my fleamarket finds

(Simply Me)

** On another note I have to let you all know that my friend Tausha had a very special comment left on her blog yesterday...Rachel Ashwell stopped by Simply Me and left Tausha a very sweet comment!! I am so happy for Tausha and know it really meant alot to her! Yay!! And how precious is her little furry baby in the photo above?!**

~ Have a wonderful week everyone ~
xo,
Rachel

The sacred heart - that is just wonderful. Specially when you know, how difficult it is to find one like that. Lucky you!

Have a nice day

You are beyond blessed to find such a glorious treasure -- sacred art.

I believe that it is the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is surrounded in thorns, wound on the heart and a cross coming out of the flames. The Immaculate Heart of Mary is surrounded in roses, flames at the top of the heart and sometimes it is pierced by a sword (it represents that she was pierced mystically in communion with the Heart of Her Son).

~~~
Adorable Sacred Heart of Jesus, which so greatly loved men and has not spared anything for them, unite with the Immaculate Heart of Your loving Mother, so full of merciful love, and together be my help, my comfort and my salvation. Amen.
I thought the photos Mark took of Tausha's home were incredible, and she's so talented! So happy for her, she really is an inspiration!
I love the Mercury Rachel~ I have lots of it in my entry, and never tire of it. Years ago I would see antique candle sticks and pass them up due to the expense, but Home Goods, Marshalls, and like you said TJMaxx have such great deals, Target too!
Rachel, Sacred Heart is a very powerful devotion; and the history of the Order is amazing; yes, this is for Mary, with flowers; Jesus' has thorns; no matter what religion you are, Sacred Heart is about LOVE and goodness, do no harm; your beautiful piece is a reminder of this....I will have to go check out the mercury glass at TJMax; thanks for this tip!!
