Hi friends
I hope you're having a great week so far.
I recently purchased this antique ribbonwork piece from my favourite antique shop
I love the faded colours.
It's a bit tattered but so beautiful to me.
When I purchase pieces like this it makes me think of the person who made it many years ago.
I wonder what they originally made it for? A letter holder or a keepsake for something?I'm not sure, but I think I'm going to use it to hold all of the love letters, notes and cards I've received from my husband over the past 14 years.
I opened it up and used it as a little inspiration board to hold some favourite images and photos.
Yes I'm still loving my faded and wilting roses...
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
xo,
Rachel
That is exquisite! Don't you wonder why something that beautiful isn't passed down in families. And that store sounds fabulous...you always find the most perfect things.
ReplyDeleteThere's something so sweet about faded roses. I saw a beautiful photo this morning of faded white roses in an old tin can. Now I want to never use a vase again!
Have a lovely day ~ Sarah

Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteWhat a rare find! You are so lucky! The faded white roses are still quite lovely too. I feel the same way you do about keeping roses well after they fully open. I enjoy them at every stage possible. Anyway, so glad I stopped by, you always post such lovely pics!

You know I'm seriously jealous over that purchase. Ah well, I guess I can't hog all of the ribbon work for myself although I'd certainly like to try. LOL! Have a good rest of your week my friend.
